Born and bred in Brooklyn, Maggie Levine graduated from Barnard College, where she majored in English and minored in Art History. After a stint working in Hollywood, she received her MFA in fiction from the University of Arizona.  

A veteran English teacher, Maggie has over 25 years of experience working at NYC independent schools and academic programs, including Packer Collegiate, The Chapin School, Saint Ann's, and Prep For Prep. 

Connecting art and writing has always interested Maggie. While living in Chicago, she developed a writing-based curriculum for docents at the Art Institute of Chicago and consulted for Chicago area schools. 

Currently living in Los Angeles, Maggie maintains ArtWrite's Instagram pages, interviews artists, writes all of ArtWrite's newsletters. She has written one unpublished novel and is at work on her second.
